Game on!

So tonight, after a long year off, the NHL is back in action. It has been a long wait, but fans seem to be accepting the league back with open arms.

I for one, am excited.

The Leafs take on the hated (and probably slightly evil) Ottawa Senators on a 15-game opening night. The league has undergone many new changes from the salary cap to new rules which should provide any number of powerplays every game.

Once again, every "expert" in sight is picking the Leafs to miss the playoffs - this is getting to be a tired, yearly event. I believe most experts have said the same thing every season since Belfour arrived. They have gotten better every year.

This year will be different though. The rule changes look to make it a whole new game. Hopefully the Leafs adapt.
