Computer Woes Begone!

Looks like things are starting to run smoothly over here. I have my new hd working, salvaged all I could from the old one, and installed most of my software.

The only problem is that I left Diablo II in KW so I can't play until the weekend. :(

Oh, and I am FINALLY about done that report that has been driving me crazy all week. It helps that I have actually had time to work on it.

Weeks and weeks

go by and my posting gets less and less *sigh*

Work is busier than ever.

My home computer is still toast. My diablo fix goes unsatisfied. :)

Hopefully I can put aside a few moments in the mornings before I start getting into work to write a few things. Nobody has really been mentioning it, so there has been little motivation...

Great, now I'm going to get like 50 complaints.

A couple of beefs

(or beefae, if you will)

1 - on the bus, I was reading in blissful serenity until these two loud guys got on the bus and started talking about how this buddy of theirs watched a girl pass out in the washroom and proceeded to teabag her and leave her there for an hour. It kinda ruined my moment.

2 - I went to put my pizza in the oven and WTF the upper element is MELTING! I don't know if it still works, and I don't know what happened, but I want my damn pizza.

Disadvantages of taking a nap

include not being able to fall asleep until 1am. Bummer.

Happy Birthday Dan

I just thought I would dedicate this post to my buddy Dan, who turns (insert mystic number here) on Wednesday!

We spent the weekend having fun and drinking and stuff - unfortunately, their favourite watering hole near their place shut down :( so we had to seek sustenance elsewhere.

I still owe him a gift and card... but then again, I still have a few more days.... ;)

Seems like a short week

Given that I was up north for the first three days of the week, it really doesn't seem like it has been a very long week. Granted I was working Monday - Wednesday, but it really felt more like a vacation. So I came back yesterday and got burdened with all this stuff I had to do and got a little down, but then the quick realization came that hey, it was Thursday and the weekend was coming. Woo!!!

And now it's Friday, and even though summer hours are over, I don't think I will feel too guilty about leaving a bit early (given that work cut into my long weekend) ;)

That's all for now. Carry on.

Life Sucks Sometimes

and for no real good reason.

I feel down this afternoon sitting here at work. I have no energy, no motivation, no desire to do anything. But still I plod on.

At times I feel nothing, but at others I feel lost, scared. Or tired. Today I feel all of these. I even feel my eyes stinging a bit with unshed tears, though I have no idea where those are from.

I sometimes feel that I am too stressed at work, or maybe that I am depressed. I know for a fact that I don't get enough exercise, and that I am a little too much into my addictions lately (hello sweet tooth).

What I have realized is that this feeling will pass. It always does. There is plenty around that will bring me up. My workmates. My family and friends. Shea. My addictions. ;)

After spending time at my folks' place and playing Diablo II, I am itching to own the game myself. Maybe I should finally cave and while away the hours in blissful gaming. Who knows. It could be fun. :) Beats sitting around reading the same old crap online. At least till the hockey season starts.

Back from the North

8 hours of reconnaissance, 20 hours of driving.

That pretty much summed up my trip to Chapleau. I left there at 820 am this morning, and arrived home at 9pm. I stopped over at my mom's place to have a rest and dinner, but for the most part my day consisted of driving.

The trip up there was a bit of a mystery. They wanted to know where they should put their new well. Instead of picking a general location (i.e. put it on this plot of land), they wanted to know where exactly to put it on the property they already have three wells on.

That's a little specific, but should be no problem.

Other stuff: Chapleau is a nice small town way up north near Wawa. It was an old logging town that has a major CP rail yard splitting the town down the middle. Not a lot of amenities, except of course a beer store and liquor store. ;) The people were friendly enough, and the hotel I stayed at was clean. The only problem was that it was at the end of a highway, not at a crossroads, so there is little to no highway industry, just tourism.

Anyways.

Chapleau

Looks like this might be my last blog for a week. I'm going to visit my mom up in South River, followed by a jaunt to Chapleau to work the first few days of the week. On the way, I plan on visiting my friend Lynn, who I haven't seen since she got married.

For some reason, greyhound doesn't list a lot of bus service between North Bay and Toronto, which is disturbing. So Shea might have a tough time getting home. ;)

Cheers.
