A Daily Dose of Derk

I have always wondered

why different emotions affect different people so differently. Some people get seized by their anger and woe be to those nearby to suffer the verbal or physical consequences. Others sink into emotional lows leading to tears and self-recrimination. However, those same people may not lose their temper and shrug off the lows. It is an interesting phenomenon, one that is difficult to see a solution for when you are in the midst of strong emotion.

Being able to recognize when you are so affected is the first step, I suppose. Being able to feel your emotions is supposed to be healthy... it's the unhealthy responses that get us into trouble.

And just a note - crying is NOT an unhealthy response to feeling down. Telling yourself you are no good IS an unhealthy response...

Feel free to discuss. I'll be around. ;)
