Mining Rights

I found an interesting article on mining rights. Some guy in BC went and bought up the mining rights on his neighbour's 150 acre property for 50 bucks. Now he can legally wander around and look around, including spray painting trees and rocks. He has done some other things as well, such as leave empty beer cans and take down for sale signs, but has not been charged.

I think this is a case where the law needs to be refined.

Take a read for yourself and let me know what you think. ;)

It's Nice

being able to get up in the morning and have the one you love thoughtfully make your lunch and even send you some nice chocolates as well (ones she is allergic to). It is also pretty rewarding when one of the guys in the office makes fun of you for carrying a Godiva bag (or a "purse" as he called it), and then you turn around and say "Oh, this? That's my lunch, which Shea got out of bed to make for me. Oh, and she bought me chocolates too - the kind she is allergic to." He mumbled something about getting lunches when he got married too and how it doesn't last long.

I think he's just jealous. ;)

Great

Now Cindy is mad at me and I don't really know why. :(

Smilies. Must use smilies for sarcasm. :(

*sigh*

Family

I spent the weekend with Shea's family. Her mom came up from B'dos for convocation (Wednesday) and her aunt came from NY for a visit as well. I spent Saturday shopping with my future mother-in-law, though it was a bit too brisk outside for her to want to brave the farmer's market in St. Jacob's. I guess when you live in 30 degrees year round, 18 and sunshine is considered too cold. :)

Yesterday I got to relax a bit as the ladies went on a shopping expedition to an outlet mall in Buffalo. I got to visit a few people and buy a few things, which was okay by me. :) I even got a start putting up the blinds on the windows. We bought enough curtains from Ikea to offer us a bit more privacy.

Cloudy, gloomy, chance of sun

It is a sad looking day out there, with dark grey clouds hanging over Markham. Funny, the sun was out on my commute in to the office.

Once again, I have gone a couple weeks without posting. However, that can be explained away (of course) by the process of unpacking after our move, and the fact that we don't have internet at home yet (I still don't always find the time to blog at work).

On a bright note, Shea's mom is coming to town for her convocation next week. That should be entertaining.

On another note, I really hope Shea and Cindy can figure out what restaurant they want to eat at.
